About Peta Hollis and the Catisfaction approach

I believe that nearly every behavioural problem a cat might face can be resolved at home.

With over ten years of experience in the animal rescue sector, I became disillusioned by the number of cats being needlessly surrendered because of behavioural issues. I felt that many of the problems faced by these cats, although often challenging, could have been resolved through “in home” support.

This feeling inspired me to complete a certificate in cat psychology, with an exclusive focus on behavioural issues, so I could make sure cats can be helped in a safe space – at home.

How I work

Unlike a usual “clinic visit”, my approach involves home visits in which I can assess your cat in their natural surroundings

A visit of 1 to 2 hours will let me produce an honest report and an agreed plan of action, with written instructions.

I will then make a follow-up call within a week to see how things are progressing, and to offer any additional advice and support.

Depending on the types of challenges your cat faces, the assistance I offer will vary in cost. Please contact me to discuss your concerns about your cat’s behaviour, and I will provide you with a quick quote.

I may request that you organise a vet check for your cat, prior to scheduling an appointment.

My husband and I were having issues with our gorgeous Birman, Arli, who was new to the household.  He was obsessively wanting to go outside and  was becoming very aggressive (particularly with my husband).  He was biting our legs, scratching furniture and generally being a rather anxious cat.  My husband wanted him to go, but I wanted to give him another chance.  I contacted a local vet to see if they could recommend someone to help - and that's when I found Peta from Catisfaction.

Peta was very generous with her time and gave me a totally different perspective on what was going on with Arli.  He was trying to find his place in a new home and he was very bored.  Peta suggested a number of games for us to play together, treats for rewarding good behaviour and how to ignore  negative behaviour.  Armed with Peta's vast knowledge of cat behaviour we could see Arli with very different eyes and now that we all understand each other we are one happy family.

Peta also checked in after the visit to monitor progress and sent some detailed notes to refer to.

Money well spent!  Thanks, Peta!

Our Vet referred us to Peta - one of our cats (two rescue COVID brother kittens) is quite anxious and has issues with inappropriate urination.

From the first phone call Peta was reassuring and generous with her time and support. Peta visited our home, met our cats, assessed our set up, and gave us a range of super helpful advice and strategies to address the problem. We were able to implement most of these immediately and had very fast positive results.

Peta followed up after a couple of days with a detailed written report and stays connected with us as we continue to seek to improve our home environment, the mood of our problem puss and the dynamic between the two. We are so grateful for Peta's valuable service and can’t recommend her highly enough.
